Educational Specialist

Robert Urowsky, M.A., came to Morrissey Compton from Edgewood Community School in San Francisco, where he was the Educational Director. In addition to 25 years of experience in specialized instruction, Robert has developed engaging, highly interactive online instruction in reading, writing, math, executive function, and SAT/ACT prep. Robert uses AI-augmented curriculum to create individualized practice beyond what is conventionally available.
Robert offers educational therapy with a focus on Orton-Gillingham (phonemic awareness, decoding, orthography, reading fluency, reading comprehension, handwriting, spelling, and written expression), as well as programs such as Step Up To Writing®, Making Math Real, and Social Thinking®. His approach is strength-based and student-centered, and he is open to seeing students from K–12th grade. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience related to developing and maintaining behavioral support plans and navigating the IEP process.
