Joshua Ireland, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral fellow with extensive experience providing comprehensive psychological assessment and evidence-based therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. His work spans cognitive, educational, and social-emotional evaluations, as well as individual and group therapy tailored to each client’s needs. He has particular expertise with neurodiverse populations—including individuals with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and giftedness—as well as those striving to enhance performance, achievement, and personal growth.

Since 2019, Dr. Ireland has trained and practiced in a wide range of mental health settings. His background includes inpatient and outpatient treatment for individuals with severe mental illness, psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents in the foster care system, and risk assessments for parents working toward reunification with their children. He now serves clients at Morrissey-Compton, where he provides in-depth assessments, therapy, and support services for individuals across the lifespan.

Dr. Ireland integrates his early academic training in philosophy with his doctoral degree in psychology, bringing both analytical depth and clinical expertise to his work. His approach is strengths-based and collaborative, emphasizing not only understanding challenges but also identifying pathways to resilience and thriving. In therapy, he draws on evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients develop practical strategies, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

A Bay Area native, Dr. Ireland values the diversity of the region and the cultural richness of the communities he serves.
