Educational Specialist

Julie is passionate about supporting children in developing the skills and strategies they need to thrive as successful learners. She began her career in the Boston area, working with dyslexic students at Landmark School and pursuing a Master's degree in Elementary Education at Lesley College. She enjoyed teaching 4th grade and being a learning specialist at independent schools before completing her Reading Specialist Certificate at MGH in Boston.

Julie moved to the Bay Area in 2012 and spent ten years providing learning services and supporting students with learning disabilities at The Carey School. For the past three years, she has greatly enjoyed supporting and empowering students with learning disabilities, as well as partnering with families and faculty at Synapse School to help them thrive. In her free time, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and son, exploring the Bay Area. At Morrissey Compton, she provides one-on-one, individualized educational therapy and academic assessments.
